Accordion Fold - Elements of Art

Project Goal: Using the Elements of Art, create an accordion fold strip that utilizes movement.

Walk Two Moons Poster

Project Goal: Create a poster for the Beckman Theatre Department "Walk Two Moons" play.
Medium: Adobe Illustrator
Process: I began by reviewing the source material, "Walk Two Moons", in order to get a better understanding of the work. I then sketched out several versions of the poster based on my knowledge of the play. Finally, I chose one of the sketches and created in in Illustrator.

Shirt Design

Project Goal: Create a present for Christmas for a friend/family member.
Medium: Adobe Illustrator and T-Shirt Printer
Process: I first sketched the concept of the design. To get the perspective of the shapes correct, I used models to accurately rotate and scale them in 3D space. Using mask layers and dotted textures, I created a gradient on the shapes to blend them into each other and the background. These gradients help add depth to the geometry of the shapes. I made three versions that varied in color scheme and general composition.
To make the shirts, I used a printer to apply the designs the the fronts and backs. Gray and white shirts were used to contrast the harsh red.
Model: Trevor Josten

City of Irvine - 2024
High School Art Exhibition Invitation
Project Goal: Make an invitation for the City of Irvine High School Art Exhibition. No style restrictions.
Medium: Adobe Illustrator
Process: I started by sketching out the general paths and shapes that the text would take. I then used bold fonts in Illustrator to translate the sketch. In Illustrator, some design aspects changed in order to accommodate for the exact width of the text. Additionally, the added color of the design changed the emphasis, so the position of the text was adjusted to match the change.

Project Goal: In a group, create a completed board game.
Medium: Adobe Illustrator, 3D printer
Process: I was in charge of the punishment cards, the 3D game pieces, and portions of the board. I started by modeling the 3D game pieces in blender. I then printed them on my Ender 3 Pro. I then used those 3D models to base the cards off of in Adobe Illustrator. On the board, I created several dozen props such as pens, pencils, and supplies to be placed around the school.
